Today was a pretty big day, and I daresay this is going to be the largest single-day post here.
Started the day out pretty normally. First, went to JC class. Unfortunately I didn’t get time to grab breakfast. In class, we had to write a presentation and then say it, on which we were evaluated. Thankfully, only hoshi-gumi had to memorize the whole thing and say it, I just read it off the paper.
In lunch hour, just went back to the lounge and used the internet for a while. Played God in Ragnarok, as usual. Was lots of fun.
Then went to culture class. Grabbed a chair from one of the lower floors for Patel-senpai while Ertl-sensei grabbed a chair for himself, and just then Fudano-sensei walked in and was like… “o.O”, and then we told her the classroom has no chairs for the teacher…
The senpai talk was pretty interesting. Vinay Patel is of Indian descent, of course, but I didn’t really have any questions for him. He is apparently a first generation citizen.
Then, a few of us decided we will go drinking with Ertl-sensei and Patel-senpai that night. Plans were cloudy at best at this point.
Went to J-club, which for me was art. Moa-san went with me, and we went to the hang out room above the cafeteria first. I wanted to actually draw things, so I decided to go to the drawing room all the way to building 16. Went there – it was locked.
So I went back. Everyone was there when I got back, and then we left to go to the art room again. So I knew exactly where it was because I’d gone there on my own before.
I got to be a model for people drawing for the first round, and during my turn I drew a Japanese guy who was being a model for us. He looked like a kid in my drawing according to some people. Whatever. At least Stewart-san liked my drawing.
Then went back to building 47, grabbed Morgan, Ernster and Susi, and then caught the 7:27 bus downtown. This was all according to the plan of hanging out with Ertl-sensei. I wanted some food from the pan-ya since I hadn’t even had lunch, but it had closed at 7pm. Meh.
Once we got downtown, we saw some car with huge loudspeakers. There were people on the roof propagandaing for some politics. Some old man was yelling “aho” and “bakaero” at them. Funny.
Met up with Ertl-sensei, Patel-senpai and a German teacher whose name I forget. All three were pretty entertaining throughout the whole experience. We first went to some Green Garden or something, but it wasn’t a beer garden – just a bar. Ertl-sensei wanted food (as did I), so we decided to go somewhere else. Some people whined about the wasted effort of climbing four flights of stairs.
The next place we went to was pretty sweet. We essentially had our own cubicle for most of our time there, since the second table there was empty. Drank a lot of beer and had a lot of delicious potato and shrimp food. Went to the bathroom a lot of times too.
Then we went to some place called _____ (I’ll figure out the name later). The whole place had a sort of 80′s feel to it, with posters lining up all of the walls (even the bathroom), and various kinds of guitars chilling on wall mounts. There was even a drum set, some bass guitars and a lot of mics, which were utilized pretty soon after we got there. I just had a beer there, but the live music was very awesome, and it felt great to be there. Took a couple pictures, although not many because I was enjoying myself too much to bother.
We left that place and went to Pole-pole, which was essentially another bar, where they gave us free peanuts. We ate some of the peanuts, threw some at each other, and shoved the shells into clothing. This wasn’t too much of a problem because the whole floor was covered by peanut shells at least a foot deep. It was packed enough to allow for easy walking, though.
Took a taxi back after. It was a pretty weird ride with Morgan, me and Suzi in the back and Andrew sitting up front.
Got back and found out there was a party going on. So – went to the party. Was already pretty drunk, and the party was out of alcohol, so it worked out okay-ish. Didn’t stay at the party too long, since I was feeling sleepy at this point, so just went to bed.
All in all, it was an awesome day.
